Sitting pose or padmasana is one of the basic types of yoga pose that helps in gaining the concentration power and amelioration of the mental ability. Be seated on a flat surface with legs stretched. Lift the right foot and place it over the left thigh and the left foot over the right thigh. Place the hands right over the knees. With the body and head upright, close your eyes and meditate. Keep your mind free of worldly worries and make it empty. Maintain this position for atleast fifteen minutes. Apart from relaxing the body and mind, it also relaxes the eyes thus curing eye problems like eye twitching. This pose also tones the lower back and abdomen by increasing the blood flow to the lower parts of the body.
