Why Your Weight Loss Diet Could Fail And How To Achieve Success

weightloss dietWeight loss and dieting is in the forefront of almost every woman’s mind and more recently men. This is mainly due to the pressure put upon us by society to be slim and the unhealthy eating practises that many people have adopted. Statistics suggest that over half of the population is on a weight loss diet at any one time, so why are so many unsuccessful in their dieting efforts and how can this be reversed?

Firstly, the rationale behind the diet usually involves a short-lived goal such as fitting into a wedding dress or losing weight for an upcoming vacation or special occasion. Because of the harsh time restrictions on the weight loss, and usually a fair amount of pressure, the diet often falters. With the lack of immediate weight loss, the individual is discouraged and the enthusiasm to continue losing weight plummets.

When weight loss is required, the individual should not implement strict time limits and should be of the mindset that the weight will be lost indefinitely rather than for a one off occasion. Instead of planning a diet that involves dramatically reducing calorie intake, a healthy and moderate calorie reduction is far more effective in creating a realistic and achievable aim and to avoid risking the metabolic rate converting to starvation mode.

So what is an achievable aim and how do we plan a healthy and moderate calorie reduction? Well, the average female requires around 1950 calories per day and males around 2500. In order to achieve a steady but healthy weight loss of around 1-2 Lbs per week , the daily calorie intake should be reduced by 500 calories.

With this calorie deficit, the body is more likely to lose fat rather than fat and muscle and become leaner. It is important to retain muscle tissue as the cells within the muscle have a higher metabolic rate and keep the overall energy requirement of the body high. This also helps to reduce the risk of weight gain following completion of the diet.

The diet should include a balance of all the food groups with carbohydrate comprising roughly 50% of the diet, fat 25-30% and protein around 20-25%. The fat aspect should be primarily mono and poly-unsaturated fats which can be found in vegetable oils. High levels of fruit, vegetables and grains will ensure that the diet has plenty of bulk and is nutritionally complete.

To optimize weight loss and maintain general health, exercise should be implemented into the daily routine. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day, such as a brisk walk. However, this could also be in the form of any type of aerobic exercise and for increased levels of fitness and weight loss, the daily exercise may be increased to 45 – 60 minutes per day, over and above normal activity.

It is easy to be hypnotized by the hype and lucrative promises of vast weight loss that faddy diets proclaim, however, the only way to lose weight and keep it off, is by following a method that will provide slow but steady fat loss.

Antioxidant Foods & Why They Are Important

Scientists have found that the cells of the body have the capacity to form unstable oxygen molecules, known as free radicals; every cell in the body produces tens of thousands of them each day. A free radical is basically an atom with an odd number of electrons in its outer ring. Since electrons have a very strong tendency to exist in a paired rather than an unpaired state, free radicals indiscriminately pick up electrons from other atoms, which in turn convert those other atoms into secondary free radicals, thus setting up a chain reaction, which can cause substantial biological damage. This, in short, is bad. There are also many kinds of free radicals, which we are exposed to everyday, for example, pollution, radiation, cigarette smoke and herbicides.

Antioxidants are thought to neutralize and stabilize these free radicals.

So, which antioxidants are naturally found in which foods?

Vitamin E: a fat-soluble vitamin found in vegetable oils, nuts, green leafy vegetables, and fortified cereals. Some of the foods containing the highest amounts of vitamin E are wheat germ oil, almonds, sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, hazelnuts, peanuts, spinach, broccoli, kiwi and mango. Vitamin E is an antioxidant vitamin involved in the metabolism of all cells. It protects vitamin A and essential fatty acids from oxidation in the body cells and prevents breakdown of body tissues.

Vitamin C: Ascorbic acid is a water-soluble vitamin present in citrus fruits and juices, cabbage, green peppers, broccoli, spinach, tomato, kale, guava, cantaloupe, kiwi, papaya, and strawberries. It is important in forming collagen, a protein that gives structure to bones, cartilage, muscle, and blood vessels. Vitamin C also aids in the absorption of iron, and helps maintain capillaries, bones, and teeth.
Beta-carotene: Beta-carotene is a precursor to vitamin A. It is present in liver, egg yolk, milk, butter, spinach, carrots, squash, broccoli, yams, tomato, cantaloupe, peaches, and grains. Studies have been done on beta-carotene’s effectiveness against heart disease, cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, Alzheimer’s disease, fibromyalgia, male infertility, and psoriasis.

Coenzyme Q10: CoQ10 boosts energy, enhances the immune system, and acts as an antioxidant. A growing body of research suggests that coenzyme Q10 may help prevent or treat some health conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and others. Primary dietary sources of CoQ10 include oily fish, organ meats such as liver, spinach, broccoli, peanuts, wheat germ and whole grains.
Selenium: Selenium is a trace mineral that is essential to good health but required only in small amounts. It helps synthesize antibodies, helps synthesize co-enzyme Q10 and helps transport ions across cell membranes. The best sources of selenium are Brazil nuts, wheat germ, molasses, sunflower seeds, whole wheat bread and dairy foods.

There are many other antioxidants naturally found in foods. The best way to take antioxidants is naturally- through fresh, vibrant food.

Quick Ways to Loose Weight – Weightloss Tips

weight loss tips and programsQuick ways to loose weight – weight loss essentials tips

Weight Loss is 20% exercise and 80% proper diet. Even vigorous exercise alone is not sufficient for healthy, effective weight loss. A nutritious, balanced diet is the major player in attaining a healthy weight, safely.

1. Plan a nutritious diet, with the right-sized portions. A proper diet consists of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Each meal should have a mix of It’s a common myth that eliminating fat entirely means losing weight. In fact, fat plays an essential role in skin suppleness and elasticity. Without fat-intake, your body cannot absorb essential vitamins and minerals. Good fats are considered mono-unsaturated fats, which the body can break down easily. A few examples are olive oil, avocados, nuts, and fish-which contain omega-3s. Bad fats are trans-fat or saturated fat, and easily noted on all nutrition labels. Another word for this is partially hydrogenated oil.

2. Take a multi-vitamin, and drink about 8 glasses of water a day. A multi-vitamin is essential to ensuring that you are getting a complete dose of vitamins and minerals-especially during hectic wedding planning. Your body needs water to effectively flush out the waste and your skin will glow! Also, drinking water before meals will slow your appetite and food intake, aiding your weight loss goals safely.

3. Be sure to eat plenty of fruits and veggies (the greener the better), along with your meals. While meals should be portioned appropriately, fruits and veggies can be consumed anytime you are hungry! If you want to maintain your current body weight, and there are days when you are not able to exercise because of time-constraints, simply eating healthy should keep your body status quo. However, try to work in even 15 minutes of exercise and toning, as it’s a great stress releaser and mood-booster!

4. Exercise for weightloss and other benefits
Exercise is important for weightloss, but beyond weight loss, the benefits are endless! Exercise reduces heart disease, cholesterol, and helps prevent against a variety of diseases. Exercise releases endorphins-or mood boosting chemicals in your brain. Exercises helps your body’s strength, stamina, and aging process.

5) The Right Mix of Exercise – most exercise routines should consist of aerobic (anything that increases the target heart rate, i.e. running, cycling, dancing, etc)and anaerobic ( weight lifting, stretching, calisthenics). There’s also plenty of fun ways to get that exercise in by dancing or playing sports or even walking your dogs!

6) Allot the right amount of time depending on your weight loss! Don’t be too focused on the scale. Remember, are doing a wonderful thing for yourself just by eating right & exercising at a rate that works for you.

If you follow above tips, you will surely see quick weightloss results – but remember weightloss requires consistency in diet and exercise. Above all regardless of what diet plan or weightloss technique you chose, make sure you are not sacrificing your health for it. Remember, if being overweight is bad for health, so is being anorexic, or losing weight overnight.

Weight Loss Diet An Overview Of Rapid Weight Loss

weight loss secret store - weight loss tips

Obesity or weight problems that may endure in the family

Previous mental trauma

Desire to lose weight
Excess weight can cause a number of health problems, including those of self image and worth. Although the health risks are reduced when somebody starts to lose that excess weight, it is the self-confidence and self-esteem returning that is the most noticeable. It is for this reason that so many people are searching for a rapid weight loss method that will trim down those fats and get a super slim head-turning body. Regular exercise and a healthy nourishing diet are also going to be part of this plan of action. Exercise should be regular and ordered with at least fifteen minutes per day doing anything that is good for cardiovascular health, like swimming, running, brisk walking and even dancing.

It ought be remembered that despite the number of rapid weight loss diet plans around, they won\’t all work with everybody that is on them, there will be different weight loss speeds and levels of success with anyone that uses them. If you discover that your exercise regime and dieting aren\’t supplying the weight loss quickly enough you may need to adjust your regime accordingly. Each person has a unique metabolism and when a particular plan isn\’t proving a success, it does not mean that success cannot be found with another dietary plan.

Exercise plans must be fit each person so if walking is all that can be done, then walk. Although, try to improve the pace you walk at as your diet progresses, not forgetting that you will look better when your fat is changed into muscle. Drinking fluids regularly throughout the day is essential. Drink plenty of water on your rapid weight loss program, at least 8 large glasses daily and remember it also flushes out poisons from the body. Getting rid of fried foods from the dietary plan should almost go without saying as the fat content in these foods is incredibly high and in some cases, this will include certain fish too.

Wherever possible have your food grilled as virtually all of the fat is destroyed, if not all of it so it\’s much healthier. We all want energy to execute daily tasks, and more if we do physical activities, so do not stop eating carbohydrates otherwise you will discover yourself exhausted all the time. Generally speaking a plan like this can enable somebody to lose around a pound each day as it is based on a diet of between one thousand to fifteen hundred calories on a daily basis.

Ultimate Weight Loss Revealed!
New Weight Loss Program Shows How Anyone Can Lose Weight With This Proven Plan.

Weight Loss Diet Use Your Mind to Stop the Diet Wars

When it comes to weight loss you may secretly be your own worst enemy. Before we get started on that, let’s look at the fact that accomplishing any goal, large or small, requires a mind that is clearly focused on the desired end.

What does that mean? It means turning self-talk into a positive advantage and using your rational mind to help fuel and motivate your efforts. After all, the choice is yours: let your mind sabotage your efforts or let it help inspire better eating habits and encourage healthy weight-loss outcomes.

If you\’ve tried losing weight or a weight loss program before, and have found it to be an uphill battle in which you lose a few pounds only to gain back several more, then it\’s time to break the psychological cycle that may be holding you back from your goal.

THE PSYCHOLOGICAL CYCLE OF WEIGHT GAIN

In a world where thin is in, it’s not unusual for people who are overweight to carry the burden of lower self-esteem. Add to that the social stigma or prejudice that overweight individuals encounter and a psychological cycle for weight gain can be set in motion or unhealthy eating disorders (bulimia, anorexia) can develop. People, overweight as well as thin, often eat in response to stress, depression, loneliness and anxiety. This stress-induced or emotional eating can lead to weight gain which in turn leads to lower self-esteem, depression, and anxiety which leads to more stress-based eating and additional weight gain. It’s easy to see how one can become trapped in a dangerous downward spiral and vicious cycle.

Compounding the problem is the fact that individuals who are overweight have less energy, and therefore find it harder to be active, so the risk of gaining weight again increases. A cycle of inactivity and further weight gain can develop: the less active person gains weight and so becomes less active, thereby gaining more weight and so on. Also, life stresses, which are normally alleviated through exercise, start building up which triggers more stress-based eating.

Individuals who try to lose weight and fail may feel depressed, frustrated and even guilty or ashamed and may rely on comfort foods as a way to feel better. The same is true of those who succeed in losing weight, only to gain it back. Anxiety, depression and guilt can produce a feeling of hopelessness that hinders efforts to lose weight.

This is why getting on the right weight loss program is CRUCIAL for successful weight loss. Whether it\’s a weight loss diet that you’ve imposed on yourself or a program designed for your body, follow the next seven steps to break the psychological cycle of weight loss.

SEVEN STEPS TO BREAKING THE CYCLE

1. Stop Diet Deprivation. Diets and weight loss programs that put severe restrictions on what you can eat oftentimes arouse binge eating. While you may hold out for a while, one day you’ll decide depriving yourself is not worth it, or you can’t take it anymore, and you dig into the refrigerator, freezer or snack cabinet with a vengeance. Allow yourself small indulgences that are satisfying and will help you avoid harmful binging.

2. Plan Ahead. What if you should slip? The best way to avoid slipping is through pre-planning. So, if you’re off to a backyard barbeque or family gathering decide ahead of time what your plan is. Eat something healthy and filling before you go out and then allow yourself a few special treats at the party, but exercise portion control. If you know that Aunt Mary is making your favorite dessert, plan on having a small slice and savor it. Managing your weight and enjoying life should go hand in hand.

3. Set Realistic Weight Loss Goals. To avoid the frustration of failing, don’t overstress yourself with unrealistic weight loss goals. You gained weight slowly over time and it will take some time to gradually lose that weight. Slow, but sure is the best approach.

4. Choose Healthy Outlets for Emotions. Instead of opening the refrigerator when you’re upset, how about phoning a friend, or take a walk. Discover something that makes you feel calmer or happier – something other than food or alcohol. Do yoga, dance around your living room, meditate or go out bowling with a friend.

5. Stop Harboring Hurts. Work through issues that are upsetting you. Talk to a therapist or even a friend. Don’t let hurts, even old wounds or patterns that reach back into your childhood, affect you and your relationship with food.

6. Remember Why You’re Dieting. It helps to stop and remember why you’re dieting in the first place. Is it to have more energy, look and feel better, alleviate health problems or increase your self esteem? Keeping the goal in mind is critical to your weight loss success.

7. Use Your Mind to Break the Cycle. The fact is you can do it. It’s all in your mind – the power to lose the weight rests with you. Believe you can succeed and you will succeed. If you want to put an end to the psychological cycle of weight gain, start by turning all of your negative self talk into positive affirmations. That’s the best way to break the cycle.

Instead of saying: “Look at that fat belly. It just won’t go away.” Think positive: “Yes, my belly is fat now, but it won’t always be. I plan to be fit, not fat. I’m heading to the gym after work today.”

Keep your goal in mind at all times. Write down your positive affirmations and put up visual reminders of what you want to attain – that dress you want to buy, that seaside resort you’re longing to visit this year, or even a picture the happy person you want to be again. It’s all within reach if you set your mind to it, keep active, exercise, and prepare healthy menus that you enjoy.

Use these seven steps to create a mental turnaround and break through the psychological barriers that are holding you back. If you do, you’ll have the power to achieve permanent weight loss – something that will truly change your future and your life.

Top 5 Widespread Yoga Myths Exposed

It is not surprising to those of us who are long time yoga practitioners that the popularity of this profound spiritual science is now exploding on a world wide scale. Unfortunately though some of the authenticity and truths about yoga are being lost and some myths are creeping in with regard to what yoga is and how it is to be practiced. In this article I will look to clear up what I find to be the top 5 myths about yoga.
Top 5 Myths About Yoga:

1. Yoga is a Form of Physical Exercise:
This is perhaps the most common view of yoga. That it is a form of physical exercise. This certainly needs to be clarified and I am going to provide some details about true yoga practice in order to do this.

Yoga is actually has 8 parts to it, with the physical aspect being just 1. These 8 parts, include yoga dos, yoga don’ts, physical exercises (asana), breathing exercises, sense control, concentration, meditation and divine union.
So you can see from above that although the physical aspect of yoga, which is called asana, is an important part of yoga, yoga as a whole is certainly more that just a series of postures and movements. Yoga is essentially a spiritual science whose objective is to still the mind of thoughts, so that the truth of Oneness hidden behind the waves of the mind can be clearly seen and embraced.

2. Yoga is a Religion:
The other extreme and incorrect view on yoga is that is it a religion. Commonly yoga is considered part of Hindu religion, but yoga is not a religion. It is a time tested spiritual science with the goal of revealing the true nature of reality. As indicated above, yoga practice is a step by step process with the end goal of calming down the thought waves in our mind and thus prevent them from distorting the truth.

3. To Practice Yoga You Must be Vegetarian:
There is a notion floating around that in order to practice yoga you must not eat meat and be a vegetarian. This is not true. Although there are tremendous benefits to being vegetarian and this is being more and more validated by the mainstream medical community, there is no requirement of vegetarianism in order to practice yoga.
One point I would like to add here is that, vegetarianism is consistent with the non-violence which yoga advocates and it certainly would be to your benefit to reduce meat intake, nevertheless, you don’t have to be vegetarian in order to be a great yogi.

4. You Need to be Initiated by a Guru:
I have also come across this notion that many believe you need to be initiated and have a guru in order to learn and practice yoga. This is not true. According to yoga, the true guru is within and although it would be to your benefit to learn yoga from an accomplished teacher, this is not a requirement.

5. You Have to be Flexible to do Yoga:
Not so. No doubt yoga will improve your flexibility, along with your strength, balance and overall health, but in order to practice yoga you do not have to be flexible. Yoga is designed to be practiced by all.
Different bodies have different degrees of flexibility and in this case one size does not fit all. For most of the complex yoga posture which require great flexibility to do, there are plenty of modifications which allow you to get the same benefits for those who are less flexible. In fact one of the original reasons I took up yoga because I was not flexible and wanted to improve this aspect of my physical dimension.

Summary:
So there you have the top 5 myths about yoga. Essentially, what these myths do is prevent people from taking up this wonderful science. So if you feel you will have to change faiths, find gurus, stop eating meat or are too inflexible to take up yoga practice, you are wrong. Don’t pass up the wonderful opportunity to learn and practice this amazing science, which helps you discover your true divine and eternal nature.

Lose Weight Fast by Fast Weight Loss Diets — Are you ready?

fast weight loss dietFast weight loss diets are popular because they promise quick weight loss with little effort. While some of these weight loss plans are not healthy, and can even be dangerous, there are some fast weight loss diets that can actually work. The key is to find a diet plan that stresses healthy eating habits instead of indicating that a person must only eat a certain food group or cut calories to dangerous levels in order to lose the weight. Here are a few helpful hints to help you decide when searching for a diet plan that will fit your lifestyle best.

Being healthy is important – Fast weight loss diets should be safe or they are not worth trying. A safe diet should include all daily recommended allowances of vitamins and minerals, as well as protein and fiber. Not following nutritional guidelines can lead to malnourishment and other long term health problems.

Get enough calories- It is very important to not cut your calories too low. By cutting your calories to less than 1,000 per day for woman and 1,600 per day for men, you can cause irreversible harm to your body. Never go below this number per day or for long periods of time. Cutting your calories too low can cause your metabolism to malfunction, thereby stalling your weight loss efforts. It can also cause many other side effects that can do more harm than good.

Eating fruit and veggies – If you find fast weight loss diets that stress eating fruits and vegetables, they are probably going to work well for you while making sure you are not jeopardizing your health. Fruits and veggies provide many vitamins, minerals, and fiber which are required for optimal health.

Low fat is what you should aim at – Low fat diets stress the negativity of fats in the diet. While it is true that the body does need a little bit of fat every day, consuming even a moderate amount of fat per day can lead to many health problems, including heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and more.

Taking dairy product is important- low fat dairy products are actually good for you, contrary to what some diet experts say. Dairy is great for curbing the appetite, provides much needed calcium to the body. Studies show that by consuming foods such as yogurt, cheese, and milk can slow the formation of fat cells and boosts the metabolism.

Eat moderate meat- or at least some kind of protein. Protein helps the body to build and repair tissue and muscles, make hormones and other imperative functions throughout the body. Remember though, that too much animal protein can cause damage to some of our vital organs, and should only be eaten in moderation, if at all.

Be sure to research the diet you choose before deciding on any diet. As always, before trying any of these or other fast weight loss diets, it is very important to visit your doctor so that you can be sure you are healthy enough to diet in this way.

Can You Attain Weight Loss While Fasting?

fasting and weight lossFasting, when done properly, can be a basic part of a solid weight loss plan. If done correctly it can be a great start to your new way of living.

When I first started my weight loss program I began with a fast. I have fasted for 2-7 days on a few different occasions. The reason that fasting can be such a great way to start a weight loss program is because you can see results immediately.

It will also make it very easy to stick to your diet for the first week. After not eating for a few days, your food will taste better. This is a great time to go a few days eating only fruits and vegetables. This can easily turn your two day fast into a 7 day, full body cleanse.

Fasting can make you look much thinner in only a couple days. You may not lose a significant amount of weight, but it will look like you have. It can make your waist noticeably thinner and clear up blemishes or skin problems.

Although I do not think fasting is to be used specifically for weight loss, I think you can do it to get your body ready for a healthier way of living. Use it as a way to cleanse your body out and get rid of all the toxins clogging your system.

I suggest drinking fruit and vegetable juices while fasting. I have read that you should do a water fast, but it can be a miserable experience if you have never fasted before. So stick to natural juices.

One of the better results I saw from my fasting experience was that I have more self control over my eating habits. I have always been a binge type of eater. After my fast, I felt like I could restrain myself easier. It is probably a mental attribute. I mean if I can go without eating for 7 days then I can sure keep myself from eating something I shouldn’t.

So although I don’t think you can use fasting as a diet or weight loss program, I do feel that it can be a great start to a proper weight loss diet and exercise program. I think it is definitely something that everybody should do at least once a year.

If you have any health problems you should consult a physician before starting any weight loss program. And, if you absolutely cannot go without food then simply try going a few days eating vegetables and fruits only. This will give you most of the same results as the fasting will. However, I recommend the fast over the fruits and vegetables because of the confidence and control you will begin to enjoy as a result.

Your Weight Loss Problem: How-To Cure It By Watching Movies

weight loss while watching tvIs it possible that you could actually lose weight while watching your favorite shows or reading your favorite books? YES, it is! Read this article to find out how…

I don’t know anything about you but if you’re anything like me then you struggle with a weight loss problem. Your weight loss problem consists of you struggling to keep your weight down, or struggling to make your weight go down.

Most people who see me wouldn’t believe that I have a weight loss problem, but I do. I’ve battled bulimia and constant gains and losses in weight, of ten pounds each time. Thats what I call a big weight loss problem.
A lot of women and men with the same or a similar weight loss problem would sympathize with me I’m sure. I want to look good (who doesn’t?) so that always motivates me to go on a diet.

But after sticking to a diet for a week and dropping the unwanted weight my love for good tasting food overpowers my need to feel attractive and the weight piles back on pound by pound.

There is always exercise to help with a weight loss problem, I remind myself as I lie lazily on the couch chomping down on one of my non-diet treats. “Sure!” I groan “I don’t feel like wearing my butt out without seeing any results for weeks at a time.”

Whenever I start a workout regimen I only stick to it for a few weeks (usually less) and then I get bored and drop it. So my weight loss problem continues.

How many other women I wondered (or men, for that matter) get bored while exercising? I thought about that for awhile then I set about to find a solution to help all those poor people (and myself too, of course) with this weight loss problem.

First I asked myself: What did I like to do? What did I find Interesting?
“Hmmmm, well” I thought “I like dancing, but long periods of it are exhausting. I like to read, to listen to music, and I really dislike being on my feet for over long periods of time.
What could possibly combine all or most of these to make my exercising interesting and help solve my weight loss problem?

The solution to my weight loss problem was amazingly simple!
I own an old stationary bike, and I do mean OLD, but the important thing is that it operates. You can do this with any form of stationary bike, whether it’s a twenty year old model or an up to date model.
It doesn’t matter whether you own the stationary bike or use a gym’s or your local YMCA’s or YWCA’s facilities.

My weight loss problem solution is this:
Find something engrossing to read. It could be a novel or your favorite magazine. Or listen to music that you enjoy, you could even use audio books or any different CD’s or things you could listen to.
I suppose if your bike was somewhere around a television or computer with a DVD player, you could even watch your favorite movie.

The next step is to mount your stationary bide and start biking while reading or doing any of the above listed activities, and not to get off for at least 45 to 60 minutes, except for an occasional rest every quarter of an hour.

I usually just keep biking away the whole time and sometimes I bike longer because I’m so engrossed in what I’m reading, and I won’t allow myself to read it once I’m off the stationary bike.
After a week of this, without change in my eating habits, or any dieting, I’m maintaining a healthy weight. Best of all I’m not putting on any new pounds, and my legs look visibly slimmer.
So I’ve kissed my weight loss problem goodbye, and I’m saying hello to slim jeans and size 6 dresses, and you can too.

For the first time in a long while I actually look forward to putting on a bikini.

Daily Motivation for Successful Weight Loss

Why do you want to lose weight? Is it to have less fat on your body? Or is it because of the well being you think you will feel without your extra pounds? Do you think that you will acquire more vitality, be more seducing, which will boost your confidence and self-esteem?

Almost everything that we do aim to modify the way we feel. We really determine our future the moment we take a firm decision. For me, everything changed the day that I’ve decided that I was engaging myself to become and obtain what I would like in life. Think about it. There is a difference between being interested in something and engage yourself towards it. Often, people say: “Oh! I would like to lose some weight.” But these kinds of declarations are not an engagement. We are simply enouncing one of our preferences such as: “It interests me, as long as I don’t have to lift a finger.”

This is not power.

Unfortunately, people don’t take action, because they are to occupied to invent themselves some excuses. If they didn’t reach their goal or if they don’t live their dream life, they put forward the way they were raise, the absence of choice when they were young, the lack of instruction or the fact that they are to old. All these excuses are insignificant. They are not only restrictive, but also destructive. If you don’t fix yourself some basic rules that you are ready to accept in your life, you’ll see that it is very easy to slip into unhealthy behavior or attitude.

If you take the firm decision to lose weight, you can do it. Your life will change the moment you take a firm decision. Will you finally decide today that you are more than what you’ve shown so far? Is it today that you will decide once and for all to harmonize your life saying: “This is who I am. Here is my life and here is what I do. Nothing will prevent me to accomplish my destiny. I won’t accept that we deny what I am.” To take a real decision, is to engage yourself to obtain a precise result and to refuse any other possibility. Understand that what is most difficult, when we want to accomplish something, is to take a firm engagement, a real decision.
